We are a well-established Structural Engineering and Engineering Consulting Firm specializing in the design of distribution centers, built-to-suit industrial facilities, office buildings, shopping centers, mixed-use developments, and a variety of other commercial and industrial projects.
We're seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager | Talent Acquisition Leader to oversee Human Resources while leading strategic Talent Acquisition for our growing team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic Human Resources leadership with hands-on recruiting. You'll partner closely with executive leadership to help attract top engineering talent while supporting a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
Candidates who have worked for an Engineering Consulting Firm, Structural Engineering Firm, Architecture & Engineering (A&E) Firm, Civil Engineering Firm, Environmental Consulting Firm, Construction Consulting Firm, or another technical professional services organization at some point in their career are highly preferred.
Experience recruiting Structural Engineers or other engineering professionals is strongly preferred, along with a passion for building relationships and developing long-term talent pipelines.
What You'll Do
As our Human Resources Manager | Talent Acquisition Leader, you'll serve as a trusted business partner while developing innovative recruiting strategies that attract exceptional engineering talent.
Talent Acquisition Leadership
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for Structural Engineers, technical staff, and corporate positions
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies that support both immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce planning
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of engineering and technical talent for current and future hiring needs
- Recruit experienced engineering professionals at all levels, from entry-level engineers through senior leadership
- Develop targeted recruiting strategies to identify and attract highly qualified Structural Engineers and engineering talent
- Source passive and active candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, referrals, networking, industry associations, and other recruiting resources
- Partner closely with Engineering Managers and department leaders to understand hiring needs and develop effective recruiting strategies
- Develop relationships with universities, engineering schools, internship programs, and professional organizations
- Attend career fairs, networking events, and industry conferences to strengthen the company's employer brand
- Manage candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiations, onboarding, and recruiting metrics
- Develop and enhance internship and university recruiting programs
- Promote the company as an employer of choice within the engineering community
Human Resources Leadership
- Serve as the primary Human Resources partner for employees and leadership
- Provide guidance on employee relations, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with California employment laws and HR best practices
- Oversee onboarding, employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiatives
- Administer compensation, benefits, HRIS, and employee records
- Conduct investigations, disciplinary actions, and exit interviews
- Develop and improve HR policies, procedures, and employee programs
- Support succession planning, organizational development, and workforce planning
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture
- Partner with leadership on strategic HR initiatives that support company growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Experience leading full-cycle recruiting and Talent Acquisition initiatives
- Experience working within an Engineering Consulting Firm, Architecture & Engineering (A&E) Firm, Structural Engineering Firm, Civil Engineering Firm, Environmental Consulting Firm, Construction Consulting Firm, or another technical professional services organization at some point in your career is highly preferred
- Experience recruiting Structural Engineers or other engineering professionals is highly desirable
- Experience building talent pipelines through LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ATS platforms, referrals, networking, and university partnerships
- Strong knowledge of California employment law
- Experience supporting engineering, consulting, architecture, construction, technical, or professional services organizations is a plus
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to influence leaders and build trusted partnerships across the organization
