Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-time Caregiver to join our team in the Silver Lake/ Helendale area. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality personal care and support to residents with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Your energy and attentiveness will help create a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for our residents. This position offers flexible hours for individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others while gaining valuable experience in senior care, assisted living, and home health services.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, ensuring timely reporting to nursing staff
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
- Conduct patient observation to identify signs of dementia, Alzheimer's, or other neurodevelopmental disorders, ensuring resident safety at all times
- Assist with community outings or activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and any incidents in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, care plans, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or Alzheimer's care is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of resident information
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Flexibility to work part-time hours with availability for shifts that may include evenings or weekends
