Dietary Cook
Job Summary:
At Mason Nursing and Rehab, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dietary Cook to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional needs of our residents are met, while maintaining a high level of quality and service in our dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and recipes, utilizing fresh ingredients and adhering to food safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to ensure menu planning, inventory management, and food quality control
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, dicing, and cooking meals for residents
- Manage food inventory, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed
- Participate in food safety and sanitation training, and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Develop and implement creative menu ideas to meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents
- Work closely with the Dietary Manager and other members of the dietary team to ensure the smooth operation of the department
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary arts degree or certification preferred
0 minimum years of experience in a healthcare setting or related industry
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities
Strong attention to detail, with a focus on food quality and presentation
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
