Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests related to family law cases
- Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law pertinent to family law and other practice areas like estate planning or tribal law when applicable
- Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all records are accurate, organized, and up-to-date
- Interview clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders to gather essential information for case development
- Draft correspondence, legal summaries, and reports with precision and clarity
- Coordinate court filings, schedule hearings, and track deadlines to ensure timely case progression
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information while providing exemplary administrative support
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience with a focus on family law.
- Strong knowledge of procedural law and legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document review software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Familiarity with legal case management systems such as iManage or PCLaw is preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally
- Experience with legal drafting, proofreading, and document management systems is highly desirable
