Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented legal assistant or person with similar experience in private sector to join our team in a dynamic legal role. In this position, you will leverage your extensive background in DUI matters to facilitate efficient law office operations, manage administrative functions, and support legal processes. Your expertise in courtroom procedures, legal documentation, and administrative management will be vital in ensuring the smooth functioning of our legal team. Duties
- Oversee the daily administrative operations of the court or legal office, ensuring compliance with procedural standards
- Manage case files, records, and legal documents through meticulous filing, data entry, and digital record-keeping systems
- Assist with research related to case law, statutes, and legal procedures to support judicial decision-making
- Coordinate scheduling of court hearings, meetings, and appointments while maintaining organized calendars
- Draft legal documents, summaries, and reports with precision and clarity using word processing tools
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries from attorneys, litigants, and the public professionally and efficiently
- Handle clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning documents, and managing office supplies
- Support litigation activities by preparing case materials and assisting with trial logistics as needed
- Process payment transactions related to fines or fees accurately and securely
Skills
- Strong research skills with the ability to interpret legal information effectively
- Legal Assistant experience or familiarity with DUI and litigation processes enhances your ability to support legal teams, specifically NJ Municipal and Superior Court matters.
- Proven office experience with a focus on legal administrative tasks and clerical duties
- Expertise in legal drafting, document preparation, and word processing software such as Microsoft Word
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Data entry proficiency ensuring accuracy in record-keeping systems
- Customer service skills to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse persons
- Experience with filing systems—both physical and electronic—and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Administrative experience supporting courtroom or judicial functions is highly desirable
