Overview
The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and accurate operations within the warehouse that supports flooring, cabinetry, and painting projects. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, and staging materials while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, order picking, and heavy equipment operation. This role involves managing inventory, operating machinery such as forklifts, and ensuring efficient receiving processes. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems, OSHA safety standards, and materials handling is essential. Previous warehouse experience and inventory management are a plus for candidates looking to join our organization.
Duties
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming flooring, cabinetry, and non-inventory materials
- Accurately document deliveries and discrepancies
- Organize and maintain inventory using established labeling and storage systems
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits
- Track material usage (including non-inventory supplies and pooled item inventory) and communicate low‑stock alerts to supervisors
- Ensure installers and subcontractors have all required materials prior to scheduled installations
- Assist with basic building, grounds, office maintenance as needed
- Cut carpet and vinyl accurately according to work orders and cut sheets using an Accu-cut carpet cutter.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse order picking, receiving, and materials handling.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking, emails, and documentation.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as box trucks, forklifts (certification a plus,) pallet jacks, and other material handling machinery safely.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance or troubleshooting is desirable.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments.
- Experience with construction or similar industries involving heavy lifting and equipment operation is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with installers, subcontractors, vendors and internal staff.
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus.
- Ability to lift, move and carry materials (Up to 50lbs.) regularly while maintaining safety standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
