Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development in infants and toddlers
- Provide attentive toddler care by supporting feeding, diapering, nap routines, and hygiene needs with compassion and professionalism
- Use child development instruction techniques to encourage exploration, language acquisition, and early literacy skills
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management practices
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and foster collaborative relationships
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety standards including first aid and CPR certification requirements
- Document developmental milestones and progress through standardized testing tools and detailed records to inform ongoing instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and early intervention initiatives for children with special needs or additional support requirements
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles specific to infants and toddlers
- Experience working with children in a childcare or preschool setting, demonstrating patience and adaptability
- Proficiency in curriculum development tailored to early childhood education standards
- Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, team members, and community partners
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety compliance
- Experience teaching physical education activities suitable for young children to promote motor skills development
- Competence in lesson planning that incorporates literacy education, math concepts, and social-emotional learning
