We are currently looking for qualified tree climbers. A tree climber uses sophisticated climbing and rigging techniques, to skillfully ascend and descend a tree performing duties such as: cuts away dead or excess branches from trees or shrubs, removal of dead trees to maintain right-of-way for roads, sidewalks, or utilities or to improve the appearance, health and value of the tree using hand and power tools.
Candidates will be given a skills test prior to being hired for this position.
Currently working 5- 8 hour days per week.
A Certified Climber is an experienced tree climber who has been certified by an accreditation body such as ISA. The Certified Climber needs to have the following skills / training:
- OSHA Logging 1910.266
- Technical Tree Felling & Cutting Techniques Chain Saw Safety
- Rigging
- Climbing
- Aerial Lift Operations
- Knots & Hitches
- GHS/HAZCOM
- First Aid / CPR
- EHAP
- PPE
All personnel must pass their background check as well as a drug and alcohol check in order to be hired and to remain on the job. Regular and random drug and alcohol tests will be administered throughout employment. All personnel must provide their own good condition steel toe lace-up safety boots and must arrive with a valid driver’s license or sufficient identification to satisfy the requirement of form I-9. All personnel must be reasonably proficient in the English language.
