Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Crew Leader, Tree Climber to join our outdoor maintenance team. In this vital role, you will lead and execute tree care and landscaping projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Your expertise will help maintain beautiful, healthy landscapes while supervising a dedicated crew. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of tree climbers and grounds maintenance staff on various landscaping and tree care projects. Clean driving record a plus
- Perform advanced tree climbing, pruning, trimming, and removal using industry-standard safety practices and equipment.
- Oversee the operation of grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment, including trucks, lifts, and specialized tools.
- Manage irrigation systems, perform irrigation adjustments, repairs, and ensure proper watering schedules for landscapes.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of construction projects related to landscaping or outdoor improvements.
- Identify plants, trees, shrubs, and other landscape elements to ensure proper care and maintenance.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, including the safe operation of company vehicles and equipment.
- Mentor crew members in horticulture techniques, hardscape installation, gardening practices, and overall landscape maintenance.
Skills
- Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and grounds management.
- Strong background in tree care including pruning, climbing techniques, and hazard assessment.
- Supervising experience with crew management and team leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of irrigation management systems and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with hardscape installation such as pathways or retaining walls is a plus.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and efficiently; experience with company vehicle operation required.
- Excellent plant identification skills combined with horticulture knowledge to support healthy landscape growth.
- Construction experience related to outdoor projects is advantageous.
- Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety and quality standards.
- Leadership qualities that motivate teams while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety compliance.
