Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join a professional healthcare team within a correctional facility. This position offers a stable schedule during a 6-month assignment, with the opportunity for extension.
Schedule Details
- Schedule: Varies
- Orientation: Monday–Friday (First 2 weeks, paid)
As an LVN, you will provide direct nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring and documenting patient conditions, performing nursing assessments within the LVN scope of practice, assisting with intake screenings, responding to medical needs, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with healthcare providers and custody staff while following all medical and security protocols.

Required Qualifications
- Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
- Minimum 1 year of continuous LVN experience within the last 3 years
- Current government-issued photo ID
- Ability to pass a background check (required for correctional clearance)
- Three professional references
- Current BLS Certification
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional healthcare environment
Additional Requirement
Applicants who previously worked as a civil servant must have been retired from civil service for a minimum of one (1) year before working with our registry agency.
