Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and fitting metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to building complex assemblies for major OEMs across various industries including construction, defense, transportation, automotive, and energy. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble metal components
- Perform welding using various techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS standards
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and other fabrication shop machinery safely and efficiently
- Fit fabricated parts together using hand tools and mechanical knowledge to ensure proper alignment and assembly on construction sites or within shop environments
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all phases of fabrication and welding processes
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections, and quality checks in compliance with company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with metal materials such as sheet metal or structural steel
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints
- Skilled in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with knowledge of AWS standards
- Familiarity with measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication
- Ability to operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and gas metal arc welding tools safely
- Mechanical knowledge of metal fabrication processes and the ability to interpret technical specifications accurately
- Experience working with construction site environments or similar industrial settings preferred
- Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and quality workmanship
