Parent Services Program Coordinator & Parent Educator Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, and implements parent engagement, education, leadership, and family support initiatives under the direction of the Director of Parent Services. This position supports multiple contract and grant-funded programs focused on increasing family engagement, educational equity, student success, and community wellness. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating parent workshops, coordinating educational events, assisting with grant implementation and reporting, conducting community outreach, developing educational materials, and collaborating with school districts and community partners. This position serves as an ambassador for UWLF and plays a vital role in empowering parents to become active partners in their children's education.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging parent workshops in both English and Spanish.
● Present educational workshops on topics including:

- ○ College & Career Readiness
- ○ Leadership Development
- ○ Parent Advocacy
- ○ Mental Health & Wellness
- ○ School Readiness

- ○ Healthy Lifestyles
- ○ Other family engagement topics as assigned.
● Coordinate parent education programs, academies, conferences, family nights, and
community events.
● Support the implementation of grant-funded family engagement initiatives and ensure
program deliverables are met.
● Recruit parents and families to participate in educational programs and leadership
opportunities.
● Serve as a liaison between families, schools, community organizations, and UWLF.
● Develop presentations, educational materials, newsletters, flyers, and family resources.
● Maintain participant records, attendance, evaluations, and required grant documentation.
● Assist with data collection, reporting, and program evaluation.
● Support grant and proposal development as appropriate.
● Collaborate with staff across multiple departments to support organizational initiatives.
● Attend school, district, and community meetings as assigned.
● Supervise volunteers, interns, or contractors supporting Parent Services initiatives when
appropriate.
● Plan, organize, and facilitate trainings, conferences, and workshops.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Minimum Qualifications

● Excellent public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to engage adult
learners.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Fluent Spanish required with exceptional reading, writing, speaking, translation, and
presentation abilities.
● Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
● Experience coordinating educational programs or community initiatives.
● Ability to build relationships with school districts, community organizations, and families.
● Demonstrated ability to work with migrant families, newcomer families, immigrant
communities, English Learner (EL) families, first-generation families, and historically
underserved populations.
● Ability to demonstrate cultural competency, sensitivity, and adaptability when working
with diverse communities.
● Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
● Ability to work evenings and weekends.
● Maintain confidentiality of participant information.
● Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Central Valley.
● Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, Teams, and other virtual
learning platforms.
● Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate program records.

Training and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is
qualifying. A typical way to obtain these qualifications would include:
● Minimum of two (2) years of experience in parent engagement, family services,
education, community outreach, social services, nonprofit programs, or a related field.
● Experience facilitating workshops or trainings for adult audiences.
● Experience coordinating educational or community-based programs.
● Experience working on grant-funded initiatives is highly desirable.
● Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, Human Services,
Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Communications, or a related field.
● Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Job Type: Part-Time Position
Expected Hours: 20–25 hours per week (based on program needs)
Work Location: Hybrid position (80% in person; 20% remote). This role requires work in the field at schools, community sites, conferences, workshops, and events, as well as occasional remote work. Evening and weekend events are common, and schedule flexibility is required.
Compensation - Hourly Rate: $22.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a non-exempt position, and the employee will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with California labor laws. Overtime must be approved in advance by a supervisor.
Pay Structure Tiers
● Tier I: $22.00/hour
● Tier II: $24.00/hour
● Tier III: $26.00/hour
● Tier IV: $28.00/hour
Compensation Review: Employee compensation may be reviewed annually based on performance, organizational priorities, available grant funding, and budget. Salary adjustments are not guaranteed.
