Your expertise in school-based occupational therapy will help students build important life, motor, and academic skills, enabling them to achieve personal success in the classroom and beyond. Collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to tailor support that meets each child’s unique needs.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Kansas (or eligibility for licensure)
- Proven experience delivering OT services in school settings, ideally with K-12 students
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize student needs efficiently
- Collaborative approach to working within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create individualized occupational therapy plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to a varied caseload of 67 students
- Support students’ fine motor, sensory processing, and functional skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and work with teachers and families on therapy goals
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports for each student
- Provide strategies and adaptations to help students access curriculum and build independence
