Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles, including those with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo safety and security.
- Drive route schedules confidently while adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance needs are addressed promptly.
- Manage documentation related to deliveries, pickups, route logs, and delivery receipts with accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Assist with special cargo handling requirements when necessary, including refrigerated goods or oversized loads on flatbeds.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or truck driver, preferably with experience in freight transportation across various vehicle types such as tractor-trailers or roll-off trucks.
- Familiarity with driving 26ft box truck vehicles and operating pallet jack.
- Knowledge of route planning, load securing techniques, and safety protocols for commercial driving.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
