About the Program
Step into the magical world of Harry Potter! In this immersive STEM enrichment program, students become young witches and wizards as they explore Hogwarts-inspired adventures through hands-on science, creativity, and storytelling. From brewing “potions” and designing wands to exploring Herbology and magical engineering challenges, students build confidence, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills while bringing the magic of Hogwarts to life.
Position Overview
We are seeking fun-loving, energetic, and reliable Lead Instructors and Assistant Instructors to join our STEM Harry Potter enrichment program for elementary-aged students. Team members will help create an exciting and magical learning environment through hands-on STEM activities, storytelling, creative projects, and interactive challenges inspired by the world of Harry Potter.
Lead Instructors will guide and manage the classroom experience, facilitate engaging lessons, and support student learning and participation, while Assistant Instructors will support classroom activities, encourage student engagement, and help maintain a positive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Instructor
- Assist in delivering engaging Harry Potter-themed STEM and enrichment activities for elementary students.
- Support students during hands-on experiments, crafts, games, storytelling, and collaborative challenges.
- Encourage creativity, curiosity, teamwork, and active participation throughout the program.
- Help students create projects such as potions, wands, magical crafts, and themed science activities.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, material preparation, and student dismissal.
- Support classroom management and ensure student safety during all activities.
- Communicate effectively with Lead Instructors, operations staff, and parents when needed.
- Help keep students motivated, engaged, and excited about learning.
Key Responsibilities of Lead Instructor
- Lead and facilitate engaging Harry Potter-themed STEM enrichment classes for elementary-aged students.
- Create a fun, magical, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and participation.
- Deliver hands-on activities including potions experiments, wand-making, Herbology projects, storytelling, games, and collaborative challenges.
- Manage classroom flow, student behavior, transitions, and overall student engagement throughout the program.
- Supervise and guide Assistant Instructors to ensure smooth classroom operations and effective support for students.
- Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to support students with different learning styles and needs.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with program guidelines and school policies.
- Prepare and organize lesson materials, classroom supplies, and activity stations before each session.
- Foster teamwork, confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills among students.
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, operations teams, and program coordinators when needed.
- Monitor student participation and provide encouragement and support to help students succeed.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, attendance tracking, and student dismissal procedures.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and structured learning environment at all times.
- Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and energy to every class session to create a memorable learning experience for students.
Required Qualifications
- Fun, energetic, and engaging personality with a passion for working with children.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in camps, schools, tutoring, after-school programs, or enrichment settings.
- Interest in STEM, science, creative arts, storytelling, makerspace activities, or imaginative learning experiences.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence among students.
- Patience, adaptability, and empathy for students with different learning styles.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children.
- Minimum of 2 years of college education preferred.
- Ability to pass background checks and TB testing requirements.
- Reliable transportation to commute to school sites in Pinole.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry approximately 20–50 lbs. with or without accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with STEM or themed enrichment programs.
- Interest in Harry Potter-themed activities, storytelling, role play, or creative education.
- Experience assisting with crafts, science experiments, or group activities for children.
Schedule & Commitment
- Dates: Summer 2026 (specific weeks discussed during interview)
- Days: Monday through Friday
- Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (3-hour camp)
- Includes setup, preparation, and student dismissal
Compensation
Lead Instructor:
- 4 hours of pay per 3-hour camp session (includes planning, prep, and wrap-up)
Assistant Instructor:
- 3.5 hours of pay per 3-hour camp session (includes setup and cleanup support)
High School and College students are welcome to apply
Compensation for High school Students and College Students
- High school students: $20 per hour
- College students: $20–$22 per hour
- Hours will remain the same as current AI instructors
3.5 hours of pay per 3-hour camp session includes:
- Lesson preparation and review
- Setup and wait time at the school site
- Instructional time
- Parent communication
- Student dismissal procedures
- Coordination with the lead instructor and operations team
