Position Overview
The General Cleaner – Post-Construction is a hands-on field role. You will clean units and common areas across all phases of post-construction work — rough clean, final clean, and touch-up phases. You report directly to the Site Supervisor and follow direction from your crew lead.
This is not a seasonal or casual role. This is full-time project work. We expect reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to understand and follow instructions clearly.
What You'll Be Doing
Rough Clean Phase
- Remove all debris, dust, and construction materials from units and common areas
- Sweep, vacuum, and pressure wash surfaces as directed
- Dispose of waste according to site procedures
- Work safely in active construction environments with noise, dust, and active trades
Final Clean Phase
- Perform detailed cleaning of all surfaces — walls, floors, trim, fixtures, appliances
- Polish and detail work to inspection-ready standards
- Follow detailed cleaning checklists for each unit
- Photograph completed work daily and submit documentation
Touch-Up Phase
- Address deficiencies identified during quality control inspections
- Perform spot cleaning and final details
- Ensure units meet inspection standards before release to the General Contractor
Daily Responsibilities
- Arrive on time, every time — tardiness is documented
- Follow the Site Supervisor's daily task assignments
- Understand and execute cleaning procedures without requiring re-explanation
- Photograph your completed work and submit documentation the same day
- Clean up your workspace and equipment at the end of each shift
- Report safety concerns immediately
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of post-construction or commercial cleaning experience
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions in English — this is a safety and operational requirement on active construction sites
- Comfortable working in active construction environments — dust, noise, heavy equipment, multiple trades working simultaneously
- Reliable transportation to the job site — consistent, on-time arrival is non-negotiable
- Smartphone with active data plan — daily photo documentation is required
- Willingness to take direction and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail — we inspect every unit before release
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday | 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Saturdays may be required based on project phase
Compensation
- $17.00 per hour
- W-2 employment
- Project completion bonus available for crew members who work the full project duration without no-shows or call-outs
Employment Terms
This is a project-based position tied to a specific construction project. Assignment is tied to project completion. Employment beyond project completion is not guaranteed. Strong performers with consistent attendance are prioritized for placement on future projects.
