Job Summary:
At Diamond Medical Laboratories, we offer a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team as a 4 AM Mobile Phlebotomist (Contract). As a key member of our phlebotomy team, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted livings, and patient homes. Our Mobile Phlebotomist plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, while maintaining a commitment to safety, precision, and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Verify test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log, bringing discrepancies to the attention of facility personnel
Ensure safe transportation of yourself and specimens, tracking mileage as instructed by management
Verify patient identity by reading patient identification and collaborating with nursing staff
Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures
Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures, and observing isolation procedures
Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
Use computer skills to enter details of sample acquisitions into Laboratory information system
Serve and protect the community by adhering to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements
Enhance laboratory reputation by accepting ownership of your work
Phlebotomist Skills and Qualifications:
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in phlebotomy
Certificate-level education in phlebotomy or related field
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and patient interaction skills
Ability to maintain a safe and secure work environment
