Overview: As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen, working collaboratively with your team to prepare and cook dishes that adhere to our high standards. Your focus on quality, efficiency, and teamwork will ensure our guests receive outstanding meals every time.
Responsibilities:
- Cooking Standards: Prepare and cook dishes to meet Strāta’s high standards for safety and consistency.
- Dish Preparation: Have a comprehensive understanding of dish preparation techniques, cook times, refrigeration storage, safety practices, and plating for à la carte and pre-fixe menus.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiently operate and maintain all kitchen equipment, including disassembly for cleaning and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Inventory Management: Assess and manage stock levels of prepped and non-prepped items, creating accurate prep lists for the following day.
- Team Communication: Effectively communicate with kitchen staff and the Chef regarding any issues, including delivery discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or low stock levels.
- Adaptability: Modify dishes based on guest requests while adhering to the restaurant’s guidelines and standards.
- Dietary Knowledge: Maintain detailed knowledge of dietary restrictions and ensure all dishes are prepared to accommodate these needs.
- Cross-Training: Be adept in both line cooking and daily preparation tasks, providing flexibility and support across various kitchen functions.
- Sanitation: Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to Food Handler Certification standards.
Qualifications:
- ServSafe Certificate, eFoodHandlers Card, or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of restaurant experience
Hours:
- Full-Time: Availability for regular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Sunday brunch is required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 40+ lbs. and navigate stairs to the mezzanine floor.
