Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Seamstress Tailor to join our vibrant fashion retail team. Responsibilities
- Perform clothing alterations to improve fit, style, or comfort for a diverse range of garments including men’s and women’s wear.
- Construct new garments from patterns using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and garment construction skills.
- Operate pressing machines and press garments to achieve crisp finishes and professional presentation.
- Use fabric knowledge to select appropriate materials and ensure proper handling during sewing and finishing processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by understanding client needs, offering style advice, and ensuring satisfaction with finished products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sewing areas and pressing stations.
- Follow detailed instructions for garment assembly, stitching, and finishing to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fashion retail or a related field with strong skills in clothing alterations and garment sewing.
- Proficiency with sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, pressing machines, and press operation.
- Knowledge of fabric materials and their properties to ensure proper handling during construction or alteration.
- Ability to perform precise stitching and garment construction with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about their needs.
- Familiarity with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills for measuring fabrics, taking measurements accurately, and calculating fabric requirements.
