J2 Diesel & Gas Repair is seeking a motivated, dependable, and experienced Gas Technician to join our growing team. Position Summary
The Gas Technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of gasoline-powered vehicles. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs
- Diagnose drivability concerns, engine issues, and warning lights
- Complete oil changes, tune-ups, and routine maintenance services
- Repair and replace brakes, rotors, calipers, and brake components
- Perform steering and suspension repairs, including struts, shocks, tie rods, and ball joints
- Diagnose and repair cooling system issues, including radiators, thermostats, and water pumps
- Replace belts, hoses, gaskets, and other engine components
- Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs
- Repair and replace starters, alternators, batteries, and charging systems
- Diagnose and repair fuel systems and emissions-related components
- Perform air conditioning and heating system repairs
- Conduct engine repairs and component replacement as needed
- Maintain accurate repair orders and communicate findings clearly
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
- Work as a team to deliver outstanding customer service
Qualifications
- Previous automotive repair experience preferred
- ASE Certifications are a plus but not required
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use diagnostic scanners and repair software
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Dependable, honest, and self-motivated
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment
