The City of Blue Ash is accepting lateral applications for the position of part-time Police Dispatcher. Lateral applicants are those applicants currently or previously employed as a Police Dispatcher (or comparable position with alternate titles such as 911 Dispatcher, Emergency Communication Officer, or Public Safety Telecommunicator). If selected, prior service may be taken into consideration when determining starting pay. Subsequent to an offer of employment, and prior to beginning employment, candidates will be subject to a background investigation, polygraph exam, and drug screen. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and rotating shifts. This position offers a strong opportunity for full-time employment.

An employee in this class responds to emergency and non-emergency phone calls for the Police Department. The Dispatcher dispatches police, maintaining status of officers location and well-being. Enter all police-related information into the computer including missing persons, stolen articles, stolen vehicles, warrants, criminal histories, and criminal intelligence. Dispatchers also complete arrest records, subpoenas, complaints, purchase orders, and other correspondences. May also be responsible for processing all police reports Hamilton County Municipal Court and Juvenile Court records.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be capable of exercising mature judgement and initiative while working under pressure and in stressful situations. Applicants should have training in communication skills and computer training for police-related inquiries and entries.
