VAC Enrichment is a leader in project-based enrichment, providing engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students from PreK through 12th grade. Position Overview
VAC Enrichment is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Fine Art Teacher to lead engaging after-school art classes for elementary and middle school students. This is a part-time position teaching 1 to 1.5 hours per day at one or more school locations.
Our curriculum is provided, allowing teachers to focus on creating an encouraging, hands-on classroom environment where students can explore a variety of artistic techniques, develop new skills, and express their creativity.
Available Schedule
- After School Programs
- 1–1.5 hours per day
- Programs typically meet once per week immediately after school.
- Fall, Winter, and Spring opportunities available.
- Additional classes may be available based on your availability and location.
What You'll Teach
Lessons may include a variety of fine art mediums, including:
- Mixed Media
- Sculpture
- Printmaking
- Collage
- Seasonal & Cultural Art Projects
- Textile Art
- Creative Design Challenges
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for art and inspiring creativity in children.
- Enjoys working with elementary and middle school students.
- Has experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or leading youth programs.
- Is energetic, patient, dependable, and organized.
- Creates a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
- Can effectively manage a classroom while making learning fun.
- Encourages students to explore their creativity and build confidence.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned school locations.
- Ability to teach after-school programs (typically 1–1.5 hours per day).
- Ability to lift and transport classroom materials and supplies when needed.
- Experience working with children.
- Ability to follow school and VAC Enrichment policies and procedures.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, hands-on fine art lessons using VAC Enrichment curriculum.
- Foster creativity while helping students build artistic techniques and confidence.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Prepare and organize classroom materials before each class.
- Encourage participation from all students.
- Communicate professionally with school staff, parents, and VAC Enrichment team members.
- Attend occasional staff meetings and training sessions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience teaching art, education, recreation, camps, or youth programming preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Creative, flexible, and enthusiastic teaching style.
- Ability to adapt lessons to different ages and skill levels.
- Leadership experience and extracurricular involvement are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience working with children
- Background in Fine Arts, Art Education, Design, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- CPR Certification (preferred)
