Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver/Laborer to join our team and play a vital role in our waste management operations. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial trucks—including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, and flatbeds—while also assisting with manual labor tasks such as load and unload activities. Your expertise in heavy lifting, route driving, and adherence to safety protocols will ensure efficient waste collection and disposal services. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, and flatbeds in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws
- Load, unload, and secure waste materials following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols
- Drive assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and traffic safety standards
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and basic mechanical troubleshooting to ensure optimal truck performance
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and manual labor activities related to waste collection, disposal, and site cleanup
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during pickups or drop-offs
- Follow all safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during outdoor work activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or roll-off trucks
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for air brake operation and manual transmission vehicles
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, hazard materials handling, and solid waste management practices
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Experience with route driving in municipal waste management or similar outdoor work environments
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or community members
