American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an Ortho/Neuro/Peds unit requiring 2 years of experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Med Surg Orthopedics unit (6E Ortho/Neuro/Peds) within a hospital setting
-
30-bed unit with potential to expand to 36 beds
-
Day shift staffing includes 1 clinical coordinator, 5 RNs, 2 techs, and 1 unit secretary; night shift includes 5 RNs and 2 techs
-
Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
-
Cares for post-op orthopedic and post-op spine surgical patients, as well as podiatry patients
-
Uses Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs
-
EMR system is Meditech
-
Shift hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
-
13-week assignment
-
Active VA or compact RN license required
-
BLS certification required
-
PALS certification preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Experience with post-op orthopedic care preferred

Strong communication skills required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required

No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Provide post-operative care to orthopedic, spine surgery, and podiatry patients

Team-oriented environment valuing positive attitude and strong patient advocacy

Unit has received Joint Commission Certification for Hip and Knee replacements

Recognized as a Unit of Distinction (2019), ranking 16th out of 2,000 medical/surgical units company-wide

High patient experience scores as measured by HCAHPS

Dress code requires navy blue or white scrubs; hoodies, pull-overs, and T-shirts not permitted

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
