We partner closely with SoCal Volleyball Club and work with youth athletes, college athletes, and families seeking transformational long-term development.
We pride ourselves on coaching that is intentional, relational, and high-performance. We are looking for a coach who wants to grow, lead, and make an impact in young athletes’ lives.
Position Overview
The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach will support the Head Strength Coach in delivering high-quality group and individual training sessions for youth athletes ages 10–18. The ideal candidate is energetic, coachable, committed to personal growth, and passionate about athlete development, culture, and communication.
Training & Coaching
- Assist in delivering age-appropriate strength, speed, and conditioning sessions
- Demonstrate proper movement patterns and ensure safe technique
- Lead warm-ups, mobility, and activation drills
- Support the implementation of SMBA training systems and session structures
- Provide positive, constructive, and consistent coaching cues
- Adapt workouts to athletes of varying experience levels
Athlete Development & Culture
- Build positive, encouraging relationships with athletes
- Model SMBA’s CORE4 values in every interaction
- Reinforce expectations around effort, character, and accountability
- Support a fun, high-energy training environment that athletes enjoy
Operations & Communication
- Help set up/clean up equipment
- Assist with check-in, attendance, and basic admin when needed
- Communicate professionally with parents, coaches, and staff
- Support Head Coach during assessments, progress check-ins, or testing events
Required Qualifications
- Experience coaching youth athletes OR relevant sports/fitness background
- Strong communication skills and positive leadership presence
- Ability to demonstrate foundational movements (squat, hinge, push, pull, core)
- CPR/AED certified (or willing to obtain within first 30 days)
- Must be reliable, punctual, and adaptable
Job Type: Part-time
