About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a dynamic professional who’s passionate about trails, active transportation and empowering people to use alternative transportation.

You’ll have opportunities to be creative and entrepreneurial in this unique role, focused on advancing the Liberty Bell Trail – a key connector in the Circuit Trails network. And you’ll have a supporting role in delivering Travel Training and supporting our Better Biking in Montco programs
This position is currently grant-funded through October 2028 and may be extended.
Objectives: Champion the Liberty Bell Trailblazers project, highlight progress and advocate for completion of the Liberty Bell Trail (LBT), a key connector in the regional Circuit Trails network. Deliver Travel Training sessions and support Better Biking in Montco programs.
Responsibilities:
Outreach & Education
· Build relationships with members, community partners, and other stakeholders to secure support for the LBT project.
· Work with PFT team to create educational materials, collect and share stories, and develop digital content that generates engagement
· Work with the Program Manager to educate municipal leaders, elected officials, and community stakeholders about the benefits of trail development
· Participate in select community events – most often held on Saturdays in spring, summer, and fall - to engage local residents and secure their support for advancing the Liberty Bell Trail.
Coalition Building
· Collaborate with staff from agencies involved in expanding the Circuit Trails network. Currently, they include Montgomery County Planning Commission; Pennsylvania Environmental Council; DVRPC; Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, Bike North Penn, members of the Circuit Trails Coalition; and twelve municipalities.
· Identify new partner agencies, cultivate relationships, and encourage their involvement in the project.
Advocacy
· Identify local champions and empower them to advocate for Liberty Bell Trail development in their municipalities.
· Conduct surveys, in-person and online, to gain feedback on Liberty Bell Trail development.
· Encourage stakeholders to sign a petition in support of Liberty Bell Trail development.
Travel Training
· Work with the Program Leader to deliver Travel Training sessions to high school students with disabilities, at various locations across MontCo,
Better Biking in Montco
· Work with the Program Leader to assist with bike safety education initiatives and basic bike maintenance (training provided)
Teamwork
· Work collaboratively, as a member of the PFT team, and assist with other projects, as needed.
· Share project updates with the PFT team at team meetings and via email.
Operations
· Participate in meetings and events, online and in-person.
· Draft reports documenting LBT project progress and key achievements.
· Perform other duties, as required.
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
