Overview
We are a family-based pharmacy seeking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two (2) years of recent pharmacy technician experience and will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service and exceptional patient service, and ensuring accurate medication management. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, supporting patient care across various settings. The Pharmacy Technician will play a vital role in medication preparation, inventory management, and patient interactions, contributing to safe and effective medication therapy.
Responsabilities:
- Prescription Processing Accurately enter and fill prescriptions
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage
- Customer Support & Patient Care Greet and assist patients with professionalism and warmth
- Answer phone calls and resolve inquiries with clarity and care.
- Inventory Management Receive, stock, and organize medications and supplies
- Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, insurance, and audits
- Participate in training, meetings, and improvement initiatives
- Follow all safety procedures related to aseptic technique, medication administration, and infection control
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication safety
- Strictly follow all written and verbal medication orders and protocols from pharmacists and authorized prescribers, ensuring accurate interpretation and execution.
Experience
- Prior pharmacy technician experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or community pharmacy settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and acute care procedures.
- Experience with pharmacy software systems and data entry tasks related to medication management.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred; ongoing education in pharmaceutical regulations is a plus.
- Familiarity with sterile IV compounding, aseptic techniques, and sterile IV admixture procedures is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation laws, and maintaining patient confidentiality within healthcare environments.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced settings while delivering excellent customer service.
