Pay: $23 – $28 per hour (based on experience)
Job Description:
We are actively hiring Heavy Equipment Operators for projects in the Metro New Orleans area. This position focuses on excavator and dozer operation.
We strongly prefer candidates who can operate both excavators and dozers, and those individuals will be considered for top pay (up to $28/hour). However, candidates with solid experience in either excavators or dozers are still encouraged to apply.
This role offers steady work with the opportunity to transition from temporary to permanent employment.
Work Schedule:
Typically 8-hour shifts
Monday through Friday
Weekend work as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Operating dozers, excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders
Performing grading, trenching, and earthwork
Conducting daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Operating safely around crews and underground utilities
Participating in jobsite safety meetings
Excavator Operator Requirements:
Experience digging trenches to OSHA standards
Ability to install utilities (sewer, water, drainage)
Experience operating CAT 300 series excavators or larger
Dozer Operator Requirements:
General Requirements:
Minimum 2+ years of heavy equipment experience
Experience with excavators and/or dozers (both preferred, not required)
Valid driver’s license (required)
TWIC card (or ability to obtain)
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Reliable transportation and steel-toe boots
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong focus on safety and teamwork
Work Locations:
Projects are located throughout the Metro New Orleans area, including New Orleans, Destrehan, and Chalmette (no travel to Baton Rouge or distant locations).
