Overview
We are seeking experienced Telecom / RAN Field Technicians with strong hands-on experience working on wireless telecommunications sites. Candidates should have a solid background in RAN equipment, AC/DC electrical systems, DC power plants, fiber optics, testing, troubleshooting, and telecommunications site operations.
Experience working on AT&T wireless sites is highly preferred.
This is a hands-on field position for technicians who can work safely and independently, troubleshoot problems in the field, follow site-specific procedures, and accurately document completed work.Required Experience & Skills
Candidates should have hands-on experience in several of the following areas:
- RAN (Radio Access Network) equipment and wireless telecommunications sites
- AT&T cell site experience preferred
- DC power plants and telecom power distribution systems
- Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration of DC power equipment
- AC and DC wiring, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting
- -48V DC telecommunications power systems
- Rectifiers, batteries, distribution panels, breakers, and related power equipment
- Experience working with 200-amp electrical systems
- Experience with 120/208V, 220/240V, and 480V AC systems
- Safe use of digital multimeters/volt meters
- Voltage, continuity, resistance, and electrical troubleshooting
- Fiber-optic cable installation and maintenance
- Fiber splicing and termination
- Fiber testing and troubleshooting
- Use of fiber test equipment such as OTDRs, optical power meters, light sources, and VFLs
- Fiber inspection, cleaning, labeling, and connector management
- Installation and troubleshooting of radios, RRUs/RRHs, cabinets, baseband equipment, and associated cabling
- Reading electrical one-lines, wiring diagrams, schematics, and site drawings
- Equipment installations, upgrades, cutovers, troubleshooting, and site closeouts
Field Responsibilities
Technicians may be responsible for:
- Performing installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting at wireless telecommunications sites
- Troubleshooting AC/DC power and fiber-related issues
- Testing electrical circuits and verifying proper voltage and continuity
- Installing and terminating AC/DC wiring and associated equipment
- Working with DC power plants, batteries, rectifiers, breakers, and distribution equipment
- Installing, splicing, testing, cleaning, and troubleshooting fiber-optic cabling
- Performing equipment replacement, upgrades, and configuration
- Identifying field conditions that differ from drawings or assigned scope
- Taking clear before, during, and after photographs
- Completing required field documentation and closeout packages
- Following customer-specific site access, safety, and work procedures
- Communicating field issues, delays, material needs, and scope changes promptly
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- Previous wireless telecommunications/RAN field experience
- Previous AT&T site experience
- Demonstrated AC/DC electrical troubleshooting experience
- Demonstrated DC power plant experience
- Fiber splicing and fiber testing experience
- Experience working around high-amperage and 480V electrical systems
- Ability to properly use a multimeter and fiber test equipment
- Ability to read and follow scopes of work, drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned job sites
- Ability to provide accurate and timely field documentation
Safety & Certifications
Candidates should be able to provide copies of current certifications and training applicable to the work performed.
OSHA 10 or higher is strongly preferred.
Additional telecommunications, electrical, fiber-optic, first aid/CPR, lift, climbing, RF safety, or manufacturer-specific certifications should be provided if available.
