Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

Job Details

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active OH or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

27-bed Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in ortho surgery, MSK infections, and ortho trauma
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
Estimated patient ratio of 1:4-5
Weekday and some weekend shifts required
No on-call responsibilities
Float required to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Active RN license (OH state or compact) required and must be in hand at time of consideration
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Skills required: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and intermediate care
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references)

Provide telemetry monitoring and med/surg nursing care to orthopedic surgery, MSK infection, and ortho trauma patients
Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for patient emergencies
Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
Previous travel nursing experience preferred, though not required
Locals accepted at the same rate
RTO must be submitted with contract request and is limited to 7 days or less
Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility
Current employees of the hospital system are ineligible for this traveler position
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
