Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support high-volume food preparation.
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient sourcing to ensure fresh, quality offerings.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling practices during meal preparation and serving.
- Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and customizing dishes accordingly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
Skills
- Proven experience as a dietary aide or in a similar food service role within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, food preparation, and recipe adherence.
- Experience with fine dining or high-volume production environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with menu planning, food industry standards, and catering operations.
