Duties
- Assist with the preparation and setup of asphalt paving sites, including moving materials and setting up safety barriers
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to support paving activities
- Load and unload asphalt materials, aggregates, and other supplies using dump trucks and loaders
- Help with the spreading, leveling, and compaction of asphalt using graders and other machinery to ensure smooth surfaces
- Support utility locating efforts to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards and quality expectations
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience preferred, especially in paving or heavy equipment operation
- Ability to operate machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks safely and effectively
- Knowledge of asphalt paving processes and construction safety procedures
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques is a plus
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions for extended periods
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills
- Valid driver’s license; experience operating Caterpillar equipment is advantageous
