Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and medical massage tailored to individual client needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans and ensure effective pain management.
- Maintain clear communication with clients about their treatment progress, comfort levels, and any necessary adjustments.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain compliance with licensing requirements, including CPR certification.
- Keep detailed records of client treatments, progress notes, and health history in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend follow-up treatments or referrals as needed.
- Uphold the highest standards of patient service and customer care to foster a welcoming and relaxing environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in massage therapy with proficiency in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments.
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to massage therapy.
- Excellent client communication skills to assess needs effectively and explain treatment procedures clearly.
- Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and develop customized treatment plans.
- Experience with pain management techniques and understanding of injury prevention strategies.
- Knowledge of medical safety protocols including CPR certification.
- Prior experience working in med spas or healthcare settings is highly desirable.
