CASS Housing: Community Program Coordinator
CASS Housing is seeking a dedicated Community Program Coordinator to expand life skills education programs and community engagement opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Auburn, Indiana, and throughout DeKalb County.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about empowering others, with experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and deeply community-oriented—someone who values connection, fosters independence, and is excited to help individuals discover their strengths, build life skills, and engage fully in their community.
Responsibilities:
CASS Academy
- Small Group Instructor
- Administration work to support the running of CASS Small Groups.
- Secure meeting locations
- Review small group applications and meet with new applicants individually before starting programming to gauge their skill level and go over program expectations.
- Consult with the CASS Academy Director on applicants.
- Communicate with Core Members and families.
- Review, develop, and adapt curriculum.
- Lead a small group of Core Members through six-week courses on various life skills.
- Document interactions with Core Members.
- Track attendance and participation.
- CASS Cares
- Partner with local organizations, schools, and churches to create volunteer opportunities for Core Members to engage in their community, develop passions, and find purpose.
- Secure locations for CASS Cares events.
- Create or provide a minimum of two volunteer opportunities a month.
- Lead volunteer opportunities.
- Administration work to support CASS Cares opportunities.
- Communicate opportunities with Core Members and families. Investigate potential partnerships.
- Track Core Member volunteer hours on a spreadsheet.
- Assessments
- Be trained in giving CASS assessments to Core Members.
- Administer assessments when needed.
Volunteer Building
- Recruit and train volunteers to:
- Help with small groups
- Assist with CASS Cares events·
Community Events
- Assist with the organization and marketing of CASS Community events
- Meet & Greets
- Communicate with Residential Service Director on logistics.
- Track attendance.
- Resource Nights
- Choose relevant topics and secure speakers.
- Communicate with the CASS Team on logistics.
- Track attendance.
- Organize structured social activities for Core Members that engage them in the community and each other.
- Fundraisers
- Be available to assist at all CASS Housing fundraisers.
Other Work
- Reply to emails, phone calls, and other communications.
- Attend team meetings/collaboration
- Ongoing training
- Database/Salesforce entry
Additional Information
- Part-time work, up to 20 hours per week
- Hourly pay between $18.00 - $20.00 an hour
- Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
- Preferred lesson planning experience
- Google Workspace & Microsoft knowledge
- Can pass a background check and motor vehicle check
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
