Mercer Stone Company seeks a reliable, safety-conscious person to fill an entry-level position at our Harrodsburg Quarry. Experience a plus, but no experience required.
Responsibilities:

Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, equipment, forklifts, and water trucks safely and efficiently on-site

Support the loading, unloading, and transportation of quarry materials using appropriate equipment

Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure mechanical integrity and safety compliance in accordance with MSHA standards

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times

Assist with general construction site tasks including site preparation, material handling, and debris removal

Support the setup and breakdown of construction zones, ensuring all safety measures are followed

Support mechanics and operators with repairs and maintenance
Skills:

Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, water trucks, haul trucks, front end loaders and portable crushing plants

Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on machinery

Strong understanding of MSHA safety standards relevant to construction sites and heavy equipment operation

Construction site experience demonstrating ability to work efficiently in a team environment

Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining a proactive approach to safety and efficiency
