Pay Rate: $20.00–$23.00/hour
Position Overview:
The Vision Companies is seeking a skilled and dependable Saw Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Rogers, MN. This position is responsible for setting up and operating a bar saw machine to accurately cut materials according to engineering specifications and production requirements.
The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing experience, is comfortable working with precision measuring tools, and can read and interpret blueprints. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the flexibility to assist in various areas of the shop as production needs change.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation
- Set up and operate bar saw equipment to cut materials according to specifications
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency
- Verify materials are cut accurately and meet production requirements
- Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet deadlines
- Perform routine machine checks and report maintenance concerns as needed
Measurement & Quality Control
- Accurately measure materials using calipers, squares, protractors, tape measures, and other precision tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings
- Inspect finished materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications
- Maintain accurate records of production and quality checks
Production Support
- Assist with various shop and manufacturing tasks as needed
- Rotate duties based on daily production demands
- Support team members in achieving production goals
- Maintain material flow throughout the production process
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Participate in ongoing safety and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating saws or similar manufacturing equipment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred
- Previous sheet metal manufacturing experience
- Experience working in fabrication or production environments
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience operating additional manufacturing equipment
