Position Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for the successful field execution of scaffolding and shoring projects. This position provides leadership to field personnel, coordinates daily operations, manages labor and materials, and serves as the primary field representative of the company. The Superintendent oversees multiple crews and projects simultaneously, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, customer expectations, and project requirements. The Superintendent acts as the critical link between field operations, customers, and project management.
Field Leadership
- Lead and supervise foremen and field crews across multiple projects.
- Establish daily work plans and production goals.
- Ensure crews understand project requirements and expectations.
- Monitor labor productivity and workforce performance.
- Develop foremen and future field leaders.
- Maintain accountability for attendance, performance, and professionalism.
Project Execution
- Coordinate daily field operations to maintain project schedules.
- Ensure work is installed according to approved plans and specifications.
- Anticipate field challenges and implement solutions before they impact production.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality and progress.
- Coordinate project mobilization and demobilization activities.
- Support successful project turnover and closeout activities.
Customer Relations
- Serve as the primary field contact for customers, general contractors, and site representatives.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
- Attend coordination meetings as required.
- Communicate project updates, concerns, and schedule impacts.
- Address customer requests while maintaining alignment with company objectives.
- Escalate contractual or financial matters to the Project Manager when appropriate.
Material and Equipment Management
- Develop material lists and equipment requirements for assigned projects.
- Coordinate deliveries, pickups, and transfers of materials and equipment.
- Verify material quantities prior to mobilization.
- Monitor material consumption and prevent waste.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained, utilized, and secured.
- Communicate future material needs to support uninterrupted production.
Safety Leadership
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and customer safety requirements.
- Perform regular jobsite safety inspections.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Position Purpose
The Superintendent serves as the company's primary field leader and customer representative, overseeing multiple crews and projects while maintaining responsibility for labor productivity, safety performance, material planning, quality control, and successful field execution.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
