Sonoran Science Academy Tucson is seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to provide Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for the 2026–2027 school year. This role requires a collaborative, student-centered educator who can deliver high-quality special education services within a least-restrictive environment while partnering closely with classroom teachers, school psychologists, and support staff.
Your Role Will Include:

Providing Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to students with IEPs in alignment with curriculum goals and state standards.

Establishing clear learning objectives for lessons, units, and projects and communicating them to students.

Writing and reviewing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Review of Existing Data (RED) reports.

Conducting IEP meetings and Review of Existing Data meetings with students’ families.

Maintaining accurate and complete records in compliance with law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Collaborating with classroom teachers, school psychologists, reading specialists, speech/hearing specialists, and administration to support integrated student development.

Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.

Setting and maintaining clear standards for classroom behavior and student engagement.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or Special Education required.

Special Education Certification preferred.

Arizona Teaching Certification preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with students, families, coworkers, and administration.

Demonstrated ability to design lesson plans that meet individual student needs and state requirements.

Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary school teams.

Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
Salary and Benefits:

Pay Range: $60,250 – $68,000 annually.
