Duties
- Prepare ingredients and perform food prep tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning to support the kitchen’s daily operations
- Cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, maintaining consistency and quality
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for upcoming dishes
- Follow all safety standards in production, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout shifts to uphold food safety management practices
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service delivery and uphold the restaurant’s reputation for excellence
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurant, catering, or dietary department preferred
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of safety standards in production, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills along with a passion for culinary arts and customer service
