Municipal Litigation Legal Assistant
Ogden Murphy Wallace, P.L.L.C. is seeking a litigation legal assistant to join our municipal practice and support the downtown Seattle team. This is a self-starter position that requires the ability to work independently but also take direction and work within a team dynamic. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, ability to prioritize and manage deadlines, have strong verbal and written communication skills and be detail oriented with excellent proof-reading ability. Municipal support experience is a plus but not required.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of litigation experience in the following areas:
- Filing pleadings and other legal documents with State and Federal courts, local Hearing Examiners, and Court of Appeals, and serving other counsel and parties.
- Organizing and maintaining files and binders; updating case information sheets, pleading indexes, etc.
- Drafting, typing, editing and proofreading correspondence and other documents; preparing and sending final documents.
- Submitting conflict checks, opening new matters, and closing files.
- Scheduling court dates, appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, etc.
- Communicating and coordinating with clients, potential clients, other counsel and their assistants, court officials, messenger services, etc.
- Maintaining calendars, including docketing, scheduling court dates, appointments, and meetings;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and aptitude for learning new software (including NetDocs, Adobe, Docusign); and
- Managing a heavy workload with completing demands.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $95,000 a year. Other compensation includes an annual discretionary profit-sharing contribution and bonus consideration.
