Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Preparer to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and governmental tax returns with precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant tax laws by staying updated on regulatory changes.
- Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, Paychex, and other financial systems to facilitate accurate data entry and reporting.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to support tax planning and reporting strategies.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare journal entries related to tax provisions.
- Manage confidential client information with integrity while handling accounts receivable/payable management and payroll processing tasks.
- Collaborate with clients or internal teams to gather necessary documentation for tax filings and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Assist in implementing internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance procedures to safeguard financial data.
- Support audits by preparing supporting documentation and explanations for tax-related transactions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of governmental accounting standards and technical accounting principles related to taxation.
Experience
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on tax preparation.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, Paychex, Workday or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of payroll management systems such as ADP or UltiPro is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent numeracy skills coupled with strong math aptitude for complex calculations and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams or explaining complex financial concepts clearly.

Pay: $87,908.85 - $105,868.73 per year
