ABOUT SAINT GABRIEL PRESCHOOL AND THE POOR SISTERS OF ST. JOSEPH
The Saint Gabriel Preschool Center was established in the Alexandria community in 1970 under the supervision of The Poor Sisters of Saint Joseph. The Poor Sisters are an independent Catholic congregation established in the 1880s in Argentina, and now serve in the United States, Argentina, Uruguay, Romania, Madagascar, and Italy.
This Sisters’ mission, guided by the Catholic faith, is focused on service, education and charity. The Sisters’ main goal is to share the love of God through the teaching of the Catholic faith. The Sisters strive and pray for the children to encounter Jesus Christ in everything they do.
