Job Summary
Friday Workforce Solutions is seeking a dependable and motivated Insulation & Air Sealing Technician for a full-time opportunity in Asheville, NC. This position is responsible for performing energy efficiency improvements in residential homes by installing insulation, air sealing, and completing basic weatherization services. No prior experience is required—paid training is provided for candidates who are eager to learn and committed to providing quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
Perform home energy efficiency improvements to reduce heat loss and air infiltration.
Conduct and interpret home diagnostic tests, including blower door and combustion analyzer testing.
Install insulation materials, including loose-fill, batt, board, and spray foam insulation.
Seal ductwork in attics, crawl spaces, and other accessible areas.
Perform air sealing in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and other areas as needed.
Replace doors and windows as part of weatherization projects.
Maintain accurate daily activity and project records.
Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.
Travel throughout the assigned service area to complete residential projects.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid North Carolina driver's license required.
No previous experience required training provided.
Willingness to learn weatherization and energy efficiency techniques.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Ability to travel throughout the service area.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including climbing, kneeling, bending, and working in attics and crawl spaces.
Must successfully pass pre-employment background, drug, alcohol, and pulmonary function screenings
Certifications
The selected candidate must obtain the following within the first three months of employment:
Lead Renovator Certification
Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Certification
OSHA 10-Hour Certification
Work Environment
Residential homes throughout the service area.
Frequent work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments.
Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, insulation materials, and construction conditions.
Physically active position requiring standing, climbing, crawling, and lifting throughout the workday.
