Job Summary
Swiss Madison is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Floor Supervisor to assist our Warehouse Manager with managing all incoming and outgoing shipments for the company. This role is vital to our operations and requires cross-functional collaboration and comprehensive knowledge of all warehouse departments to ensure the proper receiving and delivery of all products.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, which includes taking responsibility for opening and closing the warehouse daily.
- Work consistently on the floor with teams to ensure all operations are being completed properly and strictly follow all company workflows.
- Maintain a major daily focus on picking and shipping to handle volume and ensure that all shipments are completed timely.
- Conduct frequent check-ins with department leads to ensure smooth operations and proactively assist with the greatest bottlenecks of the day.
- Train all new warehouse associates and consistently enforce company policies and standards.
- Maintain workplace safety and health regulations to protect all associates.
- Ensure that products are organized upon receiving, scanned correctly, and handled in a timely manner.
- Maintain accessibility and ensure the consolidation of all products being stored within the warehouse.
- Ensure proper protocols are followed by the shipping and receiving staff to guarantee that product is not damaged.
- Maintain all warehouse machines to ensure seamless operations, which includes executing a monthly, weekly, and yearly preventative maintenance schedule.
- Address logistical issues, respond appropriately, and communicate with the order processing team regarding any issues that will delay shipments.
- Conduct cycle counts and maintain the overall cleanliness of the warehouse, ensuring racking is organized and floor space remains clear.
- Complete administrative tasks and perform all other duties as assigned.
- Lead by example to exhibit the company's mission, encourage teamwork, and promote a positive working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role within a distribution or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, inventory control, and logistics management.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and RF scanners.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts safely; forklift certification preferred.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and best practices for materials handling safety.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as lean management is highly desirable.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual material handling tasks as required.
