IT Systems / M365 Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities & Requirements
Windows Server and Azure Cloud
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS).
- Experience with Windows Server setup, configuration, and administration.
- Administer virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V).
- Provide upgrades to system configuration standards, hosted and cloud applications.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure and Zero Trust deployments.
- Drive the organization towards cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevSecOps and AI.
- Automate administrative tasks through PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
- Administration of SQL Server.
Networking
- Install, configure, and maintain network architecture using networking equipment.
- Diagnosing network outages and supporting network equipment.
- Experience designing and deploying wired and wireless networks.
- Networking proficiency: DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, security, and mobile device issues.
- Stay up to date with Windows, macOS, Meraki Networks and cloud technologies, ensuring adherence to best practices.
M365 Cloud Administration
- Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.
- Managing M365 services such as Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
- Develop and manage user accounts, groups, and licenses.
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access control across Windows, macOS, and M365 cloud environments.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365 applications and services.
- Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of Microsoft 365 services.
- Stay updated on new Microsoft 365 features and updates, and provide recommendations for adoption.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users to maximize the use of Microsoft 365 tools.
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Onboarding and offboarding users (macOS, Windows, email accounts, and more).
- Installing new technology including applications, operating system updates, devices, peripherals and more.
Security and Defender
- Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data and applications using Microsoft Defender, Intune, Lighthouse and other Microsoft security tools.
- Implement and enforce security policies and compliance standards within the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Maintain an understanding of cybersecurity and information protection standards.
- Identify repetitive patterns of technical issues to uncover root causes and provide solutions to increase security, compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Experience with log management and monitoring tools: Syslog, Windows Event Viewer.
- Backup and recovery: Managing backup solutions and restoring data when necessary.
Experience and Certifications
- The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of IT systems administration experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in desktop, network, and Windows server management.
- 7+ years’ experience in M365 administration.
- Regularly earn Microsoft certifications in support of continuous education.
- Knowledge of principles and methods applied to information technology infrastructure, planning, implementation, and management.
- Systems Administration in iOS, macOS and Windows mixed environments.
- Scripting proficiency in PowerShell.
- Experience with Microsoft data management and security solutions, Power BI and PowerShell programming.

Certifications
- Cisco Meraki Network Operator (CMNO) or equivalent

- Network+, Security+, CISSP
The salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $110,000 / year. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
