Senior RF Engineer – Hardware & Circuit Design
Lean Synergy Solutions is seeking an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join the Product Engineering Team of a company specializing in telemetry data systems and mission-critical communications solutions.
This is a hands-on RF hardware engineering role focused on RF circuit design, PCB development, testing, troubleshooting, and product support from initial development through production and maintenance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced RF Engineer, RF Electrical Engineer, RF Hardware Engineer, Microwave Engineer, or Radio Frequency Design Engineer with strong board-level RF design experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop RF electronic circuits for RF and telecommunications applications.
- Develop board-level RF circuit designs across P, L, S, and C bands.
- Perform RF circuit analysis, simulation, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Direct RF PCB layout and design for board assembly.
- Use Cadence PCB design tools for RF hardware development.
- Work with contract PCB assembly manufacturers and electronic component suppliers.
- Analyze RF performance using S-parameters and other RF performance measurements.
- Work with embedded software, non-RF electronics, controls, and systems engineering teams.
- Support product development, testing, design reviews, and customer technical meetings.
- Benchmark competing and alternative RF designs.
- Support RF products from initial development through ongoing product maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. An active clearance is not required at the time of hire.
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience with an RF specialization.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
- Demonstrated expertise in RF circuit design and analysis.
- Experience with P, L, S, and C band RF designs.
- Experience with PCB design/layout and board-level RF development.
- Strong understanding of S-parameter analysis.
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design, analysis, and simulation.
- Experience using RF/electronics test equipment, including:
- Network analyzers
- Spectrum analyzers
- Oscilloscopes
- Logic analyzers
- Function generators
- Experience applying EMC/EMI principles.
- Experience with microprocessors for embedded applications.
- Strong circuit analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with Cadence PCB design software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and technical projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSEE or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with Cadence AWR Microwave Office or equivalent RF design software.
- Knowledge of surface-mount technology (SMT) and PCB fabrication/assembly techniques.
- Familiarity with IPC/SMTA standards.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
