Cabinet Refacing Project Manager
Reports To: Division Manager
Position Summary
The Cabinet Refacing Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the cabinet refacing division from project handoff through final completion. This role manages project coordination, purchasing, scheduling, installer support, customer communication, and subcontractor management to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
The Project Manager serves as the central point of contact between customers, sales staff, vendors, installers, and company leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Receive and process approved cabinet refacing projects from the sales team.
- Review project measurements, takeoffs, layouts, and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
- Create and maintain work orders, project records, and schedules within company systems.
- Manage projects from contract execution through final completion.
- Identify and resolve issues that could impact project timelines, quality, or customer satisfaction.
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved.
Purchasing and Vendor Management
- Order cabinet doors, drawer fronts, hardware, moldings, accessories, and related materials from approved vendors.
- Verify material quantities, specifications, and lead times.
- Track orders and coordinate deliveries to support scheduled installation dates.
- Resolve vendor-related issues including shortages, damages, backorders, and warranty claims.
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
Scheduling and Installer Management
- Schedule and assign projects to installers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate installation timelines based on material availability and workforce capacity.
- Adjust schedules as needed due to project changes, delays, or customer requests.
- Monitor installer performance, productivity, and quality standards.
- Provide installers with all necessary project information and documentation prior to installation.
Installer Recruiting and Onboarding
- Recruit qualified cabinet refacing installers and subcontractors.
- Conduct initial screening interviews and evaluate installer qualifications.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, and orientation for new installers.
- Ensure installers meet company standards, insurance requirements, and compliance requirements.
- Build and maintain a reliable network of installation professionals to support company growth.
Technical and Field Support
- Serve as the primary support resource for installers during project execution.
- Assist with troubleshooting field conditions, installation challenges, and material issues.
- Coordinate solutions with vendors, management, and installers to keep projects moving forward.
- Arrange replacement materials and corrective actions when necessary.
Customer Communication
- Serve as the primary operational contact for customers after project approval.
- Provide proactive updates regarding project status, material lead times, installation schedules, and delays.
- Address customer questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
- Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Verify completed work prior to payment approval.
- Maintain project documentation, purchasing records, and vendor invoices.
- Assist with project profitability tracking and cost control efforts.
- Support project closeout and warranty documentation processes.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of project management, operations, construction management, remodeling, cabinetry, or related experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Preferred
- Experience in cabinet refacing, cabinetry, kitchen remodeling, millwork, or residential construction.
- Experience managing subcontractors and installation crews.
- Knowledge of cabinet construction, measurements, and installation practices.
- Experience with purchasing, vendor management, and scheduling.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $60k - $70k
