Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient scheduling, registration, and specimen collection activities with efficiency and professionalism.
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling using aseptic techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collect, process, label, and document specimens accurately following established protocols and CLIA regulations.
- Manage laboratory information systems (LIS) for data entry, tracking specimens, and maintaining detailed records of all procedures.
- Oversee quality control measures to ensure specimen integrity, proper storage, and adherence to laboratory standards.
- Ensure compliance with all laboratory regulations including CLIA standards and hospital policies; conduct regular audits to uphold quality assurance.
- Train new team members in phlebotomy procedures, laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and data collection methods.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control practices; monitor vital signs when necessary.

Skills
- Extensive experience with blood sampling techniques such as venipuncture and blood banking procedures.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to physiology and hematology.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIS), document management systems, and hospital information systems (HIS).
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising or managing laboratory teams; ability to motivate staff while maintaining high standards of quality assurance.
- Excellent data management skills including data collection, analysis, reporting accuracy, and record keeping.
- Ability to perform laboratory procedures following strict quality control protocols; understanding of QA/QC processes in clinical labs.
- Strong organizational skills for schedule management and coordinating multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for training staff and collaborating with healthcare professionals across departments.
