The Funeral Attendant provides hands-on support before, during, and after services, including setup, ushering, and breakdown, helping ensure every service runs smoothly and with dignity.
The Driver safely operates funeral home vehicles, including hearses, for services, processions, and family transportation, providing a professional and reassuring presence for grieving families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and break down chapels, visitation rooms, and service spaces, including chairs, flowers, and signage.
- Direct parking, greet guests, and usher attendees during visitations and services.
- Assist with casket placement, processional lineup, and committal setup at the cemetery.
- Carry and arrange floral arrangements, memorial items, and equipment as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of service areas throughout the day.
- Assist drivers and Removal Technicians with loading and unloading as needed.
- Perform general building upkeep tasks during downtime between services.
- Safely operate hearses, and other funeral home vehicles for services and processions.
