Staff Pharmacist
Full Job Description
Hawai’i Oncology, Inc. is a leader in medical oncology and hematology care. We offer compassionate, patient-centered care for the people of Hawaii. We are seeking a dedicated pharmacist to join our in-office dispensing program based in an outpatient setting located at Kuakini Medical Plaza. In this role, you will serve as an integral part of a multidisciplinary oncology team, ensuring patients receive access to oral chemotherapy and hematology medications. This is a high-impact position for a pharmacist with a commitment to improving treatment adherence and outcomes for oncology patients.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and clinic staff with providing safe, effective care to patients
- Dispense oral oncolytic and hematology medications to patients
- Perform clinical verification of prescriptions (drug utilization review (DUR), verifying dosing based on BSA, renal/hepatic function, and treatment regimen)
- Provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers on medication directions, storage, side effect management, and adherence strategies
- Manage specialty prior authorizations, plan limitation overrides, and copay assistance
- Oversee inventory management
- Assist in supervising pharmacy technicians
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pharmacist
Job Details
Job Type: Full-time, Regular
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. On-site, in-office dispensary. One dispensing location.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Current Hawai'i Pharmacist Licensure
- Proficient phone and computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and clinical judgment
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year or more of Pharmacist experience
- Specialty and/or oncology experience
- Familiarity with specialty pharmacy prior authorization and copay assistance
- Proficiency with EMR platforms and pharmacy dispensing systems
COVID-19 Considerations: Must be fully vaccinated, including boosters
Pay: $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
